Bring the warmth and energy of authentic French gypsy jazz to your wedding in the South of France.
Cordes Nomades performs Django-inspired swing for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours and drinks receptions. Based near Montpellier, we travel throughout Occitanie, Provence and the French Riviera. You book directly with the musicians and have one dedicated point of contact throughout the planning process.
Gypsy jazz — known in France as jazz manouche — combines the swing of Django Reinhardt with the warmth of acoustic guitars and double bass. It is joyful, elegant and unmistakably French, making it a natural choice for a destination wedding in the South of France.
The music is lively enough to give your reception real character, but never needs to dominate the occasion. We pay close attention to sound levels so your guests can enjoy the performance while continuing to talk comfortably.
As the atmosphere develops, the band can move naturally from relaxed background music to more energetic swing. Some guests simply listen; others end up dancing. That flexibility is one of the reasons gypsy jazz works so well for international, multi-generational weddings.

Ask About Our Line-UpsCordes Nomades has been performing at weddings and events for over ten years. We understand that organising a destination wedding from another country requires dependable suppliers and clear communication.
We are musicians, not an agency. When you contact Cordes Nomades, you speak directly with Tomy, one of the band's guitarists, who remains your point of contact until the wedding day.
Send us your date, venue, approximate guest numbers and the moments for which you would like live music. You can select a line-up or ask us for advice.
We confirm our availability and send you a personalised quotation covering the chosen musicians, performance schedule and travel. If you decide to book, we provide a written agreement.
Before the wedding, we confirm the music, timings, access, electricity and performance locations. We can handle the practical arrangements directly with your wedding planner or venue team.
On the day, we arrive with the agreed equipment and handle the setup independently. If the schedule shifts slightly or the weather requires a different position, we work with the venue to find a practical solution.
We provide the amplification required for the band. When arranged in advance, the system can also be made available for speeches, microphones or recorded music. Very large receptions or venues with particular technical requirements may require additional equipment.
Gypsy jazz can also be performed acoustically. This gives us greater flexibility for intimate ceremonies and nearby areas within the same venue. Outdoor performances are possible when the weather and venue rules allow them, but a safe and protected alternative area must be available in case of rain or unsuitable conditions.
Special songs can often be prepared with enough notice. We first check that the piece will work with the chosen instruments before confirming the arrangement.
Our repertoire is centred on authentic gypsy jazz, but it is varied enough to accompany the different stages of a reception without becoming repetitive.
It includes Django Reinhardt-style swing, French waltzes, American jazz standards, French chanson, bossa nova, rumba, bolero and selected modern songs arranged in our acoustic style.

Tomy and the Cordes Nomades were exceptional. Everything (communication, payment, arrival, setup, performance) went smoothly. The celebration attendees loved the music, and were impressed with both the quality of the music and the friendliness of the musicians.
Fantastic band. We opted for the three piece (lead guitar, rhythm guitar and bass). Although I don’t speak French, I was able to organise everything easily with Tomy using email and Google translate. Such a great addition to our wedding day. Arrived on time, played exactly the music we were looking for and were happy to relocate around the venue between their sets. The three of them were lovely people as well who added to the great energy. 10/10
Tomy and the Cordes Nomades Jazz group was perfect for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at Blanche Fleur. They play a wide variety of french jazz and more. Tomy suggested songs for our ceremony that were perfect and they were also open for ideas from us. They kept the music upbeat and going during our entire cocktail hours. Tomy is easy to work with, speaks good english and we highly recommend the band!
